Share was found in a ditch by the highway with her two tiny puppies, Stoney and Dusty. The puppies are so small, their eyes aren't fully open yet. Share is another very frightened dog who shies away from people and has probably been badly treated -- and possibly turned out because she was pregnant. It is always a marvel to us that people will blame their dogs for getting pregnant when they are not spayed and then left outside while in heat. Some people just don't understand that it is an owner's responsibility to have their pet spayed if they don't want her to get pregnant. At this point, Share is too afraid to even go out for a walk with our Care specialists or volunteers. But she does seem to have a strong desire to trust. She just isn't quite there yet. In a few days, she will relax and realize she is now in a good place where she will be treated well. And we won't abandon her. Once her puppies are weaned and off to live in happy homes of their own, we'll make sure that Share finds a wonderful home of her own... a home where she will know kindness and love, perhaps for the first time. When that happens, that forever family will have a beautiful, loyal, and grateful companion for life. The cost of adoption is $95.00 (cash or check), which includes the spay/neuter, heartworm check & on heartworm preventative (age appropriate), all shots, microchip, worming, and a goody bag.
